Fake or Not!!!!

Shimano Ultegra chain £25 bargain!!!!!

Not quite, it’s a fake!!!

I was asked to fit this chain by a customer who brought it off a well known auction site, best place for this chain is in the bin!!

Always by from an authorised Shimano dealer to guarantee genuine parts, I’m a authorised dealer of everything Shimano, everything from jockey wheels to full groupsets, brake pads to full brake systems

Can you spot the difference???

A part from the chain it’s self as it’s a different colour check out the packaging, the font is bigger and glossy colour, the info page is of a gloss finish instead of matt and doesn’t say speed, even down to the chain packaging, no info on it and the quick link is in a small zip bag not a sealed one

Remember if it’s to good to be true, it’s not genuine

I only use Shimano, KMC and Miche chains

Winter can be quite harsh on your bike!!

(16.4.24) This is why it’s important to have your bike stripped down once a year to prevent parts seizing etc

This PF bottom bracket had to be cut out so a new one could be fitted, also a lot lighter with the dirt removed .

Abu Dhabi World Triathlon Series

(8.3.24) Well, I was hoping to show you some pictures of the Aussies  racing in Abu Dhabi for the first round of the WTS, but it’s been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions coming in.

I feel for athletes all the race prep and travelling to be told on the morning of the race it won’t be going ahead, safety first

I'm gutted as all the prep work on the bikes to get them race ready, but hey ho, it’s now a working holiday.

" GB NEWS: HELEN SCOTT APPOINTED AS MEN’S SPRINT PODIUM POTENTIAL COACH

British Cycling have announced that Helen Scott has been appointed to the role of Men’s Sprint Podium Potential Coach for the Great Britain Cycling Team, replacing Justin Grace in the role. Scott has been part of the Great Britain Cycling Team coaching team since May 2022, following her retirement from the programme after over 10 years as a para-tandem pilot. Scott was herself on the GBCT Podium Potential programme for two years, before moving to the Paralympic programme in 2010.

Scott initially gained her coaching qualifications while competing, since then she has been instrumental in the development of future Paralympians and has coached breakout riders such as Archie Atkinson and Lizzi Jordan to their first world titles.

On the new role, Helen Scott said: “I’m so excited to be taking on the role of Men’s Podium Potential Sprint Coach. This stage of the pathway is so important to me, and I hope I can deliver a highly motivating and progressive programme to give my riders the richest experience both on and off the bike." 

“Though I’m sad that my time as Paralympic Foundation Coach has come to an end, I move forward with all of the joy and learnings that role and my athletes gave me, and I look forward to continuing my coaching journey with a new group of talented athletes.”

Scott will travel with the sprint team to Hong Kong for the UCI Tissot Track Nations Cup, before taking over the Men’s Sprint Podium Potential coach role full-time on 26th March."

Top Tip!!!

Always check your pad axles, they can seize in the caliper and could end up being a new caliper etc, even if you get into the habit of every second bike wash checking that you can undo them will save you a lot of money in the long run
